Classic British Cream Scones (12 scones)
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour 3 cups (360g)
- Cold butter, cubed ½ cup (113g)
- Whole milk ½ cup (120ml)
- Heavy cream ½ cup (120ml)
- Granulated sugar ¼ cup (50g)
- Baking powder 4 tsp
- Salt ½ tsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat 400°F. Mix dry ingredients.
- 2. Cut cold butter into flour until crumbly.
- 3. Mix milk + cream, add to flour. Stir just until combined.
- 4. Pat to 1" thick. Cut into rounds. Don't twist cutter!
- 5. Brush tops with cream. Bake 15-18 min until golden.
- 6. Serve warm with jam and clotted cream!
